THE INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION

The Piccolo Opera Festival is the only summer opera festival in Friuli Venezia Giulia and is one of the most internationally appealing events of its type. It represents an excellent opportunity for com-panies to link their image to that of the Festival by offering their products a prestigious showcase. The spectators not only come from Italy but mostly as part of organised groups from Austria, Ger-many, Switzerland, Holland, Luxembourg etc. The guest artists come from all over the world via the international cooperation that has been a characteristic of the Piccolo Opera Festival since its be-ginning.

The Piccolo Opera Festival project is not only of artistic value. Numbers show how as a well-managed cultural operation it is able to generate a considerable turnover, especially for accommo-dation and catering facilities. The audience of the Festival is also very interested in the excellent local products and in the past, visits have been organised to a variety of factories and workshops, often those known for their gastronomic and design products.

Since 2019, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region has been promoting the regional ART BONUS, or the granting of contributions in the form of a tax credit in favour of subjects who make donations to pro-jects promoting and organising cultural activities and the enhancement of cultural heritage. The Piccolo Opera Festival FVG is one of the projects involved in the promotion and organisation of cultural activities that can be financed in 2020. As a tax credit, the Region's ART BONUS is equivalent to 40% of the donations directed towards sponsored projects within Friuli Venezia Giulia and supported by accredited promoters.
