The Comis family has been making wine with passion and committment for 50 years. Andrea Paolo Comis, founder of the company, started production back in 1966, even before the creation of the Consorzio Tutela Collio Wines, founded in 1968. Since then, generation after generation, the family wine has been made following tradition, today coupled with modern technologies. Hystorically, the old mansion dating back to 1800, still home to the company, was also where poet Pietro Zorutti was born and lived for many years. He is well known for taking the Friuli dialect out of the realms of the region to make it become cultural heritage in Italy and the whole world. In his name and as a triuìbute to him, Andrea Paolo Comis decided to call the family wine business “Zorutti”.
