Trg Evrope/Piazza della Transalpina
Nova Gorica, Slovenia/Gorizia, Italia
In Gorizia you can breathe the suspended atmosphere typical of a border town: in Piazza Transalpina, physically divided by a wall until 2004, you can walk with one foot in Italy and one in Slovenia. Thanks to its particular geographical position, Gorizia has always been culturally influenced by the intersection of different civilizations: the Latin, the Slavic and the Germanic. Located on the eastern border, it has always played a central role in Central Europe. Today its streets, its architecture and its parks bear witness to the great history of this city.
