A gala of the most famous arias performed by Maria Callas and award ceremony for the Giacomo Casanova Prize– Castello di Spessa

Marking one-hundred years since the birth of the legendary singer Maria Callas, the Little Opera Festival celebrates Callas’ astounding career, but also looks to the future, placing young and promising voices centre stage at this performance on the border between Italy and Slovenia.

Héloïse Kempgen, winner of the Little Opera Festival Prize at the 2023 Italian School of Opera Competition (Fiorenza Cedolins Scuola dell’Opera Italiana), will be among the soloists to perform. Alongside her, the young Elisa Verzier and Mojca Bitenc will also appearaccompanied by Eric Foster on piano.

The gala will also provide the occasion for the Giacomo Casanova Prize ceremony. The prize is awarded by the Friends of Giacomo Casanova association to individuals who have become important cultural reference points and exert themselves in promoting freedom, tolerance, and open-mindedness.
