ROSSINI FEAT. CARLO X @ PALAZZO CORONINI

Concert in memory of Charles X with music by Gioachino Rossini

Another collaboration celebrating young talent comes in the form of this unusually named concert performed by the young soloists from the Rossini Academy and from Pesaro’s Rossini Opera Festival. This collaboration between the most famous and prestigious institutions to carry the composers name will stage their production of Il viaggio a Reims (‘The Journey to Reims’) in 2025 and the performance is already fixed in the playbill for the European Cultural Capital festivities. It will also mark both the bicentenary of the opera (one of Rossini’s most mature and modern works) and the coronation of Charles X of Borbone, the last King of France who died in Palazzo dei Coronini in 1836.

Despite their young age, the three soloists (mezzosoprano, baritone, and tenor) have both a high level of musical education behind them and a great deal of experience on stage in principal roles from Rossini and Mozart’s repertoire. The Russian pianist Alexey Yakimov will accompany them on the piano – though he equally boasts a diverse career as an orchestral conductor, bass singer, singing instructor, and artistic producer.

Soloists: Marta Pluda, Gianni Giuga, Victor Jimenez
Piano: Alexey Yakimov
